Constructed in 1913, Beitou Hot Spring Museum was originally built as Beitou Hot Spring Bathhouse. In 1984, it was listed as Grade 3 heritage site and became a privately funded museum currently housing more four thousand pieces of artifact divided into Taiwan Folk Arts and Taiwan Aboriginal Culture.
Taipei Public Library Beitou Branch Address: No. 251, Guangming Road, Taipei As the first building in Taiwan to qualify for the highest standard, diamond rating, under the government’s EEWH certification system for sustainable construction projects. Built in 2006, the green building focuses on ecology, energy saving, waste reduction and health. Part of the roof is covered with photovoltaic (PV) cells which converts sunlight into energy, expecting to save at least USD1,000 per year from energy conservation.
